A Jund List or Two

This is likely to be terrible, but these are what I call "quickies". Decklists that take up a few minutes to think up because they follow a linear pattern of ideas. And might reveal new insight without a lot of investment.

Jund 1: Taking 4-Power All the Way

4 Putrid Leech
4 Lotus Cobra
4 Shambling Remains
4 Bloodbraid Elf
4 Vengevine
//20 creatures

3 Lightning Bolt
4 Blightning
4 Terminate
3 Bituminous Blast
//14 spells

I'm not a huge fan of this deck because it stops being about power, just speed. But I think Sean McKeown's list is similar to this, and he's got good ideas. If you run this, you probably don't run any Lavaclaw Reaches to avoid lands entering tapped.

Potential reasons why one would run this deck:

  • To make less relevant Wall of Omens
  • To make less relevant Spreading Seas (Cobra)
  • To "maximize" Vengevine
  • To be able to race and beat red decks
  • Haste beats waste? And maybe Planeswalkers?
  • Your Graveyard is your secret friend (Remains, Vengevine)

Jund 2: More Eldrazi Monument

4 Putrid Leech
3 Lotus Cobra
4 Sprouting Thrinax
4 Bloodbraid Elf
3 Vengevine
3 Siege-Gang Commander
2 Eldrazi Monument
//23 things

4 Terminate
4 Blightning
3 Maelstrom Pulse
//11 other things

Okay, that actually took more than a few minutes. It started with Sarkhan the Mad, but the more and more I thought about it, the worse and worse it got. So then I just switched from "maxing planeswalkers" to "maxing Eldrazi Monument".

Too bad, because I really wanted to make lots and lots of Dragons.

Potential Reasons for running this:

  • Nobody expects Eldrazi Monument. Ever.
Ok, so one reason.

One of the lists has no Lightning Bolts. That's probably a mistake (oh well). The other has no Maelstrom Pulse. Both lists have 4 Terminate. And obviously 4 Blightning. If this bothers/confuses you, wicked sorry. Had to make room somehow.
